Paul Thomas Eilers

July 25, 1947 to February 09, 2010

Paul “Tom” Eilers age, 62 died Tuesday February 9, 2010 in his home following a valiant fight with cancer for 17 years.

A gathering for family and friends will be held from 9 to 11 Saturday February 13, 2010 at the Lawrence Community Center in Anamosa. Thoughts, memories and condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.

Surviving is his wife Mary; his parents Robert and Delores Davidson Eilers; 2 sons Dean (Robyn) of Shelbina, Missouri and Darrin (Carla) of Fairview, IA; 2 step-sons Daniel (Cherri) Schoon of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Tim (June) Schoon of Hudson, Wisconsin; a sister Becky (Steven) Brown of Springville ,Iowa; 3 brothers Galen (Sue) of Janesville, Iowa, John (Diann) of Anamosa and Phil (Kim) of Anamosa; 4 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; 3 step-great grandchildren; and his dog Mandy; He was preceded in death by a step daughter Julie Schoon.

Paul Thomas Eilers was born July 25, 1947 in Anamosa, Iowa. He was the son of Robert and Delores Davidson Eilers. Tom and Jody Osterkamp married on August 28, 1966 and were later divorced. They had 2 sons Dean and Darrin. Tom worked for more than 30 years for Rockwell Goss working his way up to a parts inspector. On January 29, 1999 Tom and Mary Schoon were united in marriage in Amber, Iowa. Tom enjoyed watching his four favorite teams the Minnesota Vikings, New York Yankees, Iowa Hawkeyes and the Anamosa Raiders play. He enjoyed collecting toy tractors being outdoors and gardening. But most of all he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his family and loved ones. He will be dearly missed by those closest to him.
