Florence Marie Kula, Age, 75 of Anamosa died Sunday February 8, 2009 at St. Lukes Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
Graveside service will be held 11:00am Thursday February 12, 2009 at the Wayne Zion Cemetery in Rural Monticello. Rev. Bill Nielsen will officiate at the service. Surviving are her 4 children Karen (Mike) Payne of Leighton, IA, Keith (Carol) Powers of Ruskin, FL, Kathy Mull of Anamosa and Dennis (Roxanne) Kula Jr. of Anamosa; 3 sisters Frieda (Marvin) Wood of Gardnerville, NV, Caroline Stoneking of Morley and Deloris (Richard) Rickels of Anamosa; 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; She was preceded in death by Her parents 3 sisters Edna Yonker, Emma Wright and Wilma Thompson; 4 brothers Henry, Ivan, Clarence and Ronald; and 2 grandchildren.
Florence Marie Kula was born May 24, 1933 in Amber, Iowa. She was the daughter of Ernest and Emma Christiansen Osterkamp. Florence married Glen Powers in 1950, the couple had three children together, later she remarried Dennis Kula in 1966, the couple had one child together. She was a past member of St. Paul Lutheran church in Anamosa. Florence worked for 25 years at Westphals Grocery Store later retiring due to her health. Florence enjoyed collecting Boyds Bears, watching the cooking channel, Wal-Mart and drinking orange pop. She will be missed dearly by those closest to her.
