Alex Leon Dirks, 38, of Anamosa, IA, passed away on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was surrounded by love with his family and listening to his favorite song.
Alex was born on Saturday, November 15, 1986, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids, IA. He was the son of Susan (Stickley) Cairy and David Dirks. He attended Anamosa Community Schools with the Class of 2005. His passions included an eclectic taste in music, painting, woodworking, and BMX biking.
Alex's heart was full of love for his children and his cat, Meowerz. He was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and his constant willingness to listen to and support his friends.
Alex is survived by his parents, David Dirks and Susan (Douglas) Cairy; his sister, Katie (Cameron) Sorgenfrey; his brother, Sam (Corinne) Dirks; and his beloved children, Ravin (Isaiah), Austin, and Chloi, and his Maternal Grandparents, Eldon Stickley and Margaret & Tom Rohwedder.
He was preceded in death by his uncle, Leon Dirks, and his paternal grandparents, Earl Dirks, and Marie and Lyle Russell.
A visitation will be held at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa on April 28th from 4-6 pm.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later date.
