Ann Ketelsen Lee age 86, died on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Good Neighbor Home, Manchester following a long illness.

Funeral services will be held 1:30 Tuesday afternoon, December 11, 2018 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Monticello where friends may call after 12:30.  Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.  Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the service.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Ann and her family into their care. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Surviving are her husband Joe Lee of Marshalltown, IA, four children, Gene Ketelsen of Wheatland, IA, Nancy (Alan) Merrill of Cedar Rapids, IA, Ron Ketelsen of Sharon Springs, NY, Mark (Stephanie) Ketelsen of Monticello, IA, a stepson, David (Julie) Lee of Woodbury, MN and a stepdaughter, Dana (David) Hagstrom of Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico; eight grandchildren; five step grandchildren and numerous great children and step grandchildren. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Dick in 1978, her mother Marguerite in 1982, her father Andrew in 1984 and her oldest son Rick in 1985.

Ann Louise Tobiassen was born on September 8, 1932, the only child of Andrew and Marguarite (Postel) Tobiassen in Anamosa, Iowa.  Ann's father had a paving and gravel business and in her younger years, her family lived in several places on the East Coast including Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, DC.  She moved back to Anamosa, IA when she was a junior in high school and graduated from there in 1950.  After high school, she attended Hamilton Business College in Cedar Rapids.

Ann worked as Secretary for the Superintendent of Schools in Anamosa and also worked as Secretary to the Psychologist at the Anamosa Men's Reformatory.  Ann later worked at Cuckler Building Systems in Monticello until they were sold, and finally retired from LeFebure in Cedar Rapids.

Ann married Richard (Dick) Ketelsen on December 5, 1952.  The couple farmed in the Center Junction and Monmouth communities.  A tornado destroyed all of the buildings except the house on the Monmouth farm in 1959 and later the couple rebuilt a number of the out-buildings.  In 1961, they moved to a home on Walnut Street in Monticello.  They continued to operate the farm in Monmouth for a number of years and later bought a farm in Amber, IA where they farmed until Dick's death in 1978.

She married Joseph F. Lee on April 27, 1995.  The couple built a new home in Marion, IA where they lived until 2010 when they moved to Keystone Place in Cedar Rapids.  Due to her declining health, Ann moved to the Good Neighbors Home in Manchester, IA in July of 2017.

Ann enjoyed traveling with her family – in earlier years with the Diamond-Dreamer Camper Club, then later with her daughter's family, and many years with the Movin' Up! Kids throughout the United States and Canada, and a trip to Europe with St. Mark's Church Choir.
