Beate Hansel, 67, of Anamosa, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

Born in Germany on September 23, 1956, she was the daughter of Karl and Ingeborg (Geilsdorf) Standke. She married Glen Hansel in Elkader, IA on January 1, 1976. The couple made their home in Anamosa. Beate was employed as a operating room technician, first at St. Luke's Hospital and later at Mercy Medical Center. She retired in March 2019.

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Glen, her daughter Sabrina (Wayne) Klostermann, four grandchildren, and three siblings.  She was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings.
