Betty (McLaughlin) Doden of Onslow, Iowa passed away on Wednesday May 20, 2026, at the Anamosa Care Center having lived and loved life to the fullest.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Visitation will start at 9:00 until the start of the service.   Pastor Dennis Rodenberg will officiate at the services.

Betty Lou McLaughlin was born July 25, 1926, to Earl and Louise (Dietiker) McLaughlin. She attended country school then lived with relatives in Monticello to be able to go to high school until the Onslow school was completed. Betty graduated with the class of 1945 from the Onslow High School. Betty Lou McLaughlin married Marvin Doden January 14, 1948, in Monticello.   The couple farmed near Onslow, where she helped with farming and variety of other jobs.  She was employed at Collins Radio in Anamosa and retired from Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids.

She leaves behind a daughter Connie (Russell) Brown, grandchildren Shane (Mindy) Brown, Shelly (Clint) Williams, and three great grandsons Aaron Brown, Colton and Crew Williams. Along with a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Marvin, brother Jack, sister in laws, mother in laws, and a nephew.
