Betty Pike, 91 of Monticello died peacefully on Monday June 29, 2026, in her home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Monday morning, July 6, 2026, at Peace Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Pastors Vicki Engelmann and Jon Kyte will officiate at the services.  Friends may call after 9:00 Monday at the church.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Betty and her family into their care.

Surviving is her daughter, Linda Fanton, 3 grandchildren, David Woehler, Eric Woehler and Ashley Boatwright and a great-granddaughter, Avalon Woehler and her brother Verl Sipe.  She was preceded by her parents, her husband Rev Robert Pike and her son Dennis.

Betty R. Pike was born in Fort Wayne Indiana on August 7, 1934, the daughter of Marion and Helen Ulrey, Sipe.   She attended the St. Louis School of Music and graduated in 1955.  Betty married the love her life, Robert Pike on August 20, 1955, at the Grace United Church of Christ in Fort Wayne. After Robert was ordained, the couple served the First Congregational Church in Rosendale, Wisconsin, Zion United Church of Christ, Dale, Wisconsin, the Congregational Christian United Church of Christ, Warren, Indiana, and a yoked parish in Danbury, the Danbury Methodist Church and the United Church of Christ in Otto, Iowa.  In 1984 the couple moved to Monticello and served Peace United Church of Christ.  Wherever they lived Betty gave piano lessons.  Betty will be remembered for her kind patience and her music. She was an excellent piano teacher that touched and brought the joy of music to hundreds of students she taught, until she retired at 85.

Betty enjoyed time spent tending to her flowers and she loved music.
