Carla Wilson, 62, died Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, following a brief illness.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30, Monday morning, September 18, 2023, at St. Luke Catholic Church, Hopkinton with interment in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Monticello. Father Paul Baldwin will officiate at the services. Friends may call from 4 until 7 Sunday at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 4:00. Surviving are her two children, Wes (Kelly) Wilson and Whitney Wilson, 3 grandchildren, Myra, Wyatt and Mylo, her father, David Wilson, her siblings, Chris (Paul) Hartman, Carmen (Gene) Kracke, Craig (Jana) Wilson and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, and a sister Colleen.
Carla Sue Wilson was born August 18, 1961, at John Mc Donald Hospital, Monticello, IA. She was the daughter of David and Mary Alice Featherston, Wilson. Carla graduated from Maquoketa Valley High School in 1979. She started her working career bartending in Sand Springs and Hopkinton. She did a career change in the late 90's when she started working at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she was the Dietary Supervisor. In 2011 Carla started working at Polo Plastics in Monticello.
Carla regarded any time spent with family as the best time, especially with her grandchildren. She rarely missed any events with her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She tried to be at every game her son Wes coached. Carla will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
