Cleo Overgaard age 100, died peacefully, Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Monticello, Iowa.

A visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 Saturday  February 9, 2019 at the Ward Van-Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, Iowa with interment in Clear Lake Municipal Cemetery.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello assisted the family with local arrangements.

Surviving are 2 children, Margaret Welter, Monticello, Russell (Gail) Overgaard, Steam Boat Springs, Colorado, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons and a brother, Larry (Jane) Coe, Ventura.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Wilbur a son John and a daughter Janis Atichison a daughter –in-law Virginia Overgaard and a son-in-law, Eldon Welter, 4 brothers, Ted, Kenneth, Cecil and Forrest Coe and her sister Joy Currier.

Cleo Glee Coe was born December 7, 1918, the third oldest of seven children of Wilbur and Blanche Porter, Coe.  She graduated from the Ventura High School and soon after, married Wilbur S. Overgaard in 1938.  The couple farmed near Ventura and Cleo worked as a waitress at the Surf Ballroom.  She also cooked and waitressed at other cafés and was employed at Gisel's Hardware Store.  In later years Cleo and Wilbur wintered in the McAllen Texas area.  Wilbur preceded her in death on February 15, 1997.
