Constance "Connie"
Castellon
May 21, 1949 — May 25, 2026
Constance "Connie" Castellon, 77, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Connie Pelzer was born on May 21, 1949, in Yonkers, New York, to Dr. Rudolph Pelzer and Lucille Bloom Pelzer. She graduated from Yonkers High School in 1967 and began her career in musical theater, performing in summer stock productions before working in Broadway and Off-Broadway productions. She later moved to South Florida, where she spent more than three decades raising her family and building a life filled with friends, laughter, and adventure.
Connie was married to Evaristo "Paul" Castellon from 1983 to 1998 and later found love again with Mario Miccio, with whom she shared many happy years until his passing in 2022. In 2021, Connie and Mario moved to Iowa to be closer to her family.
Connie was known for her fiery sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to make friends wherever she went. As a young woman, she traveled the world with her parents and later enjoyed several memorable trips throughout Europe with her daughter, Alexis. Of all the roles she cherished in life, her favorite was being "Meemaw". Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, Grace and Julian.
Connie is survived by her daughter, Alexis (William); grandchildren Grace and Julian; step-grandchildren Madisyn, McKenzee (Maguel), Will, and Abigail. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Lucille Pelzer, and her husband, Mario Miccio.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Unity Point for their compassionate care and support during Connie's final journey.
Goettsch Funeral Home in Monticello is caring for Constance and her family.
