Dan (Digger) Knouse of Tipton, Iowa, passed away on June 7, 2026, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehab Center after a courageous battle with cancer.

A beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, Dan touched the lives of many with his easy going nature and sense of humor.

He was born on September 11, 1951, to Raymond and Mary (Thomas) Knouse. He attended school in Wilton and Tipton.

Surviving are his sons, Jeff (Holly) Knouse of Monticello and Josh Knouse (Bobbie Prins) of Morrison, Illinois; grandchildren Blake Knouse (Chloe Prater), Brooklynn (Logan) Warner, and Crue Knouse, Jordan Kraus, and Kourtney (Jake) Minick; and great-grandson Jackson.   Dan is also remembered by his brothers Richard Jensen and Tom (Theodora) Knouse; sisters-in-law Anita Hartley, Connie Knouse, and Cindy Knouse; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Bill Hartley, Ron Knouse, and Chuck Knouse; and sister-in-law Mary Jensen.

Dan, better known as "Digger," was a man who enjoyed the simple things in life. He valued time with family and friends, enjoyed sharing a laugh, and was always himself. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by those who knew and loved him.
