Daniel Blunt died peacefully at his home on Monday, October 27, 2025.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, November 1, 2025, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may call after 9:00 Saturday morning at the funeral home.   Pastor Kathryn Newhall will officiate at the services.
Surviving are his siblings, Lisa, Dennis, Jeff (Kate) Blunt, 4 nieces and nephews, Jayson (Victoria) Michael Blunt, TT and Izzy Williams. He was preceded by his parents and a brother, Jeremy.
Daniel James Blunt was born June 15, 1958, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, the son of James and Marion Eiben Blunt. Dan graduated from the Monticello community school in 1978 and continued his education at Kirkwood.
Dan has been employed Family Foods in Monticello, the Gazette, Pierson's Flowers and Anderson News where he distributed monthly publications.
Dan was a gentle soul.  He took care of his grandmother Hilda Blunt for a number of years. He enjoyed rides through the countryside, he looked forward to all the seasons of the year. His favorite meal was chicken with mashed potatoes and lots of gravy.
