Darlene Binley, 91, died Thursday, April 9, 2026 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A celebration of life will be held Thursday April 16, 2026 at the Cedar Rapids Eagles Club from 10:00 until 2:00.  Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Darlene and her family into their care.

Surviving are two sons, Jeff and Donald Guilford and three grandchildren, Hedi Kline, Cassie Rutten, Izaac Guilford, 3 great-grandchildren, Leonidas, Giovanna, and Wyatt,  her siblings, Gib and Glenn Paulsen.  She was preceded by her parents, 2 husbands, Raymond Guilford and Gene Binley, 2 children Ines and Tiny, her siblings, Preston, Rolland, Lilburn, Keith, Millie Schuman and Henrietta Lehaman.

Darlene Ann Paulsen was born November 12, 1934, at Preston, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Clara Etten, Paulsen.  She graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1952.  She helped her parents on the farm until she married Raymond Guilford on March 29, 1958, at St. Lukes Methodist Church.  Darlene did a lot of babysitting for family and friends she also cleaned houses for many years.  In the summer, she would cook at the Great Jones County Fair.   Darlene married Gene Binley on April 14, 1979, in Brookfield, Missouri.

Darlene enjoyed dancing to the Dave Dighton Band, the Do's and Don't's and the Johnny Ketelsen Band.  In her younger years she was an avid bowler.
