Darlene Gottleaber 90, died Tuesday June 9, 2026, at her home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Tuesday morning, June 16, 2026, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Pastor David Raemisch will officiate at the services.  Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 Monday at the Goettsch Funeral Home.
Surviving are 4 children, Kenneth (Debra), Laurie Ashby, Steven (Terri), Valerie (Brian) Over, 6 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and siblings, Beverly Rickels, Kathy (Warren) Rieniets, Betty (Richard) Lubben.  She was preceded by her parents, her husband, a son Dr. Vern, son-in-law, Brad Ashby, a sister, Vivine, and brothers, Donald, Cletus and Duane Chapman.

Darlene Marie Chapman was born March 25, 1936, at Hopkinton, Iowa, the daughter of Vernon and Loretta Boots Chapman.  She received her education in the South Fork Township schools near Hopkinton.   She continued her education at Lenox College where she played basketball.  Darlene even got to go play in a tournament in Chicago.

Darlene married Harold Gottleaber Jr. September 10, 1952, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church.  Darlene was a mother to her five children and an aid to her husband in the operation of Rite Way Feeds.

She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.  Darlene enjoyed gardening and bowling on the Zirtman's team.
