Dean Ellingson, 67, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Pinicon Senior Living in Anamosa.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, August 17, 2026, at SS Peter and Paul Lutheran Church, rural Monticello. Burial will take place in Prairie Hill Cemetery. Rev. Dean Allen Ellingson was born in Emmitsburg, IA on January 17, 1959, the son of Orville and Marie (Speas) Ellingson. He attended the North Linn Community Schools and graduated high school in 1977. He was employed as an industrial electrician and worked for Esco Electrical. He married Mayko Giraldez in April of 2018 in Anamosa, IA.

He was a proud member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. In his free time he loved to work puzzles, enjoyed watching soccer, and walking his dogs Bella, Cocoa, and Lola. HE will be remembered as a faith-filled man of few words who loved to spend time with his family.

Dean is survived by his wife Mayka, his son Brandon (Cristie Vandenheuvel) Ellingson, his stepchildren Mari (Jeremy McNeeley) Kromminga, Alex Kromminga, James (Hayley) Kromminga, Lydia Kromminga, and Felicia Kromminga, five step-grandchildren, and his brothers David (Carla) Ellingson and Dale (Diana) Ellingson. HE was preceded in death by his son Bryant Ellingson and his parents.
