Deb Shaw, 67, of Davenport, died Monday, July 24, 2023, at Genesis East Medical Center in Davenport.

The family will greet friends from 9:00 to 11:00 am Saturday, July 29, 2023, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Private services will be held for the family at Green Center Cemetery, Morley, IA. Please use the Guestbook to share your thoughts, memories, and condolences with Deb's family.

Debbie Leigh Shaw was born April 27, 1956, in Anamosa, the daughter of Allen and Thelma (Aldrich) Dirks, Sr. She attended Olin Consolidated Schools and graduated from Olin Consolidated Schools in the class of 1974. She was married to Ronald Brown for 25 years. On March 25, 2000, she married Thomas Shaw in Las Vegas, NV. She was employed as an office manager and worked at a variety of businesses.

She enjoyed going to casinos, her favorite being Rhythm City Casino in Davenport, where she spent much of her time enjoying the company of her friends and Rhythm City's employees. She also kept in touch with her friends from her class, often finding new places to visit and have lunch. Deb loved to research and plan various day trips, flower gardening, bird watching, checking in daily with her Facebook family. Above all these things she treasured her family and loved spending time with them.

Remembering her are her husband Thomas, son Damian (Alicia) Brown, grandson Brandon Brown, her siblings Kathy (Dennis) Valenta, Sue (Randy Hults) James, Joni (Mike) Long, Chris Basham, and Allen (Lisa) Dirks, Jr, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Lori Dirks.

The family would like to express thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of Genesis East Medical Center, especially the wonderful care team in the ICU.
