Obituary

Deborah LeClere, 66, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 4, 2021 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at 10 am Friday, July 9, 2021 at Hopkinton Cemetery. Rev. Jan Lamont will officiate. A luncheon, following the services, will take place at the Memorial Park in Hopkinton.

Deborah Ann Cline was born June 9, 1955 in Monticello, IA the daughter of Richard and Mabel (Peters) Cline. She was a member of the Maquoketa Valley High School Class of 1973. In 1975 she met Ron LeClere. The couple married on July 11, 1977 in Delhi, IA and spent 39 years together before his passing in 2016.

She spent her life raising her family and taking care their home. She was a longtime member of the Hopkinton Community Church, where she was also a member of the choir. Deborah was a huge Elvis Presly fan. She enjoyed doing crafts, crocheting, vegetable gardening, collecting recipes, fishing, and puzzles. Above all else she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She survived by her children Pat LeClere, Denise (Chris Cavanaugh) LeClere, Brian (Noel) LeClere, and Troy LeClere, all of Hopkinton and Ivy (Jeremey) Hofland, Winthrop, her grandchildren Dakota, Elijah, Carter, Jazmyn, Nikoli, Madison, Brayden, James, and Everett, her siblings Diana (Charles) Johnson, Decorah, Linda Cline, and Jim (Claire) Cline, both of Cedar Rapids, Nancy Williams and Trudy Michels, both of Hopkinton, her two sister-in-laws Berniece Friest, Eula Svehla and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Michael and Peter, and a brother-in-law Kenny Williams.
