Derrick Leytem, 42, of Center Junction, died suddenly Monday, March 28, 2022 at his home in Center Junction.

A life celebration service will be held 11:00 Friday morning, April 1, 2022 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church, Monticello. Visitation will be held on Thursday March 31, 2022 from 4-7 at Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.  Pastor Rodney Bluml will officiate at the services. Surviving are his 3 children, Alexis, Quinnlyn and Rhett, his parents, Pam and David Leytem,  and his brother, Josh.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

Derrick James Leytem was born June 25, 1979 at Maquoketa, Iowa.  He was the son of David and Pamela Gravel, Leytem. Derrick graduated from the Midland High School with the class of 1997. He was employed at Roger Concrete, B&M Construction and the Center Junction Locker. He also operated his own dump truck business.

When he wasn't spending time with family and friend's he enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He always supported Whitetails Unlimited and the Paul Petersen Golf outing.
