Don Rigby, 71, of Monticello, died Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at his home following a battle with Pancreatic Cancer.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 until 4 Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the Monticello Veteran Hall. Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Don and his family into their care. Thoughts, Memories and Condolences may be left at Goettschonline.com.

Surviving is his wife, Jennifer Vickers, a grandson Isaiah, 3 brothers, Charlie (Diania), James (Linda), his twin, Ron (Sandy) and a sister Ruth Frisch, several, step-children and grandchildren and his dog Lucy. He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Joshua in 2018, his wife, Patty, a brother, Edmund a sister, Sandra Jean Westerly.

Donald Eugene Rigby was born September 1, 1951, at Monticello, Iowa. He was the son of Louis and Josephine Winans, Rigby. Don graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in 1972. He started in life's work of bus driving in Des Moines driving a city bus. He returned to Monticello where he drove for, the Monticello Community Schools. He finished his career driving bus with the Canoe Rental Company. He also took care of the Monticello Car Wash for several years.
