Donna Annabel Smith age 88, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center after residing there for 7 years.

Private family services will be held at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello.  Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Pastor Frank Shephard will officiate at the services.  By visiting Goettschonline.com you may share your thoughts, memories and condolences with Donna's family and sign the online guest book.

Surviving are 3 sisters, Bonnie (Charles) Holcomb, Rosemary (Daniel) Hasler, June (Carl) Kraus, 3 nieces and 4 nephews and their families.   She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-father.

Donna was born November 10, 1932 the daughter of Otto and Emma Bartels Schneiter at the John McDonald Hospital.   Otto died when she was four and Donna was adopted by Irvill Smith when her mom remarried.  Donna became the big sister to Bonnie, Rosemary and June.  Donna graduated from the Monticello Community Schools with the class of 1951.   Donna worked as a babysitter and housekeeper her whole life.  She worked for several families but the longest for Marcia and   Glenn Gabriel.   She enjoyed traveling in her later years and was always ready to go shopping- even just to look.

Donna was a life-long member of Peace Church, she was baptized and confirmed when it was the Evangelical and Reformed Church.

The family would like to thank all the staff at MNRC for all the wonderful care given to Donna during her 7 year stay with them.
