Dorothy Vera Barbour 94 died Saturday June 6, 2025, at the Accura Care Center, Cascade, Iowa.

Dorothy Vera Hurd was born January 29, 1932, in London, England, the daughter of Charles and Clara (Blain) Hurd. Dorothy completed her primary education in England.    She then married Mieczyslaw Boczkowski in May of 1952. They had 10 children while they were together.

Dorothy married Roger Dan Barbour in England in 1977 while he was serving in the United States Air Force.  The family moved to George Air Force Base in Victorville, California shortly thereafter.    While in California she was an Apartment Manager and she sold Avon products as well. Dorothy moved to Monticello in 1994 to be close to family.

Dorothy loved time spent with her family, going shopping, car rides and her dogs.  She was very well loved.

Surviving are 11 children, Susan, Zunnia, Lindsey, Patricia, Frances, Diane, Debbie, Jerzy, Angela, Kate and Roger Jr. and many grand and great-grandchildren, and 2 sisters, Rosie and Yvonne Hurd.  She was preceded by her parents, both husbands, her son Steve, a grandson Carl Thomas Walker and a sister, Eileen Klimowicz.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Wednesday July 8, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery. Friends may register at the church after 10:00. Fr. Issac Boadu and Deacon Ed Goldsmith will officiate at the services.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, Iowa has taken Dorothy and her family into their care.
