Douglas Dirks, 73, died Monday, January 12, 2026, at the Monticello Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

There will be no services at this time.  Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Doug and his family into their care.

Surviving are 3 children, Scott (Roberta Brandt), Eric (Courtney),  and Andrea Dirks.  2 brothers, Mike (Connie) and Greg (Jean).

He was preceded by his parents.

Douglas Leland Dirks was born August 5, 1952, at John McDonald Hospital, Monticello, the son of Marion and Jennie Rundle Dirks.  Doug attended the Monticello Community schools. He served in the United States National Guard for 7 years.   Over the years he was employed at Cox Implement in Monticello, and worked as a mechanic, plumber and electrician.

He enjoyed dirt track racing and NASCAR, he loved motorcycles, especially his 750 Honda and his chopper.  Doug was a true gear head.
