Obituary

Douglas Lowe, 67, of Grimes, IA, passed away at Mercy Medical in Des Moines, IA, Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, after a brief illness.

The family will greet friends with a celebration of life at the Anamosa Bow Hunters club near Anamosa on June 14, 2025 from noon until 4.  The address is 24532 Ridge Road, Anamosa.  Share your thoughts, memories, and condolences with Doug's wife Jill and his family. Douglas Erwin Lowe was born December 13th, 1957, in Anamosa, the son of Erwin and Betty (Lange) Lowe. He attended school in Anamosa, graduating from Anamosa High School in the Class of 1976.
On June 16 1995, he married Jennifer Stickley. They were married til Jennifer passed in 2017.
Doug married Jill Armstrong on September 21, 2024.
Doug worked in Construction, drove semi, worked at Norandex, and finished his career at NuVu Builders Inc. where he recently retired.
Doug enjoyed golfing, driving his Dart Swinger, fishing, being around friends, and his animals. However, nothing compared to the love he had for his two sons, Keaton and Carter. Doug loved his boys more than words can express. Doug had a huge heart and loved being around family and friends. Doug will always be remembered as a fun-loving guy with a big smile.
Doug is survived by his wife Jill, sons, Keaton & Carter Lowe and stepchildren, Allison Stickley, Eric Eastman, and Nikki O'Deen. Sisters Karen (Gary) Sievers, Sharon Butterfield and Tammy (Tim) Diesburg. Mother in law Audrey Smith and Father in law Pete Smith. Sister in law Mary (Terry) O'Brien, brother in law Jim (Debbie) Smith, sister in laws Patricia Gasmi, Ann (Jay) Goodlove, brother in law Paul (Chris) Stickley as well as by many nieces and nephews.
He was greeted in heaven by his first wife Jennifer, parents Erwin and Betty Lowe, father and mother in law, Galen and Mary Anne Stickley, brother in laws Dale Butterfield and Mike Smith, and all grandparents.
