Evelyn Jeanette Hurt Scott, born February 18, 1935, passed away peacefully on July 13, 2023, in Lisbon, IA.

Evelyn worked at Wilson Foods/Farmstead for 27 years and sold life insurance for Modern Woodsman of America for 5 years. She enjoyed crafts and painting and loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by 4 sons and 2 daughters - Steve (Jan) Rushford, Terry (Pam) Rushford, Arnie (Lori) Rushford, Dan (MaryJane) Rushford, Sheree Garside, and Dawn Chapman, 3 stepchildren  Joe (Tammy) Scott, Laura Jones, and Angie (Matt) Weldy, 14 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Long Hurt and John Edward Hurt, brothers Howard, Hurt, Charley Hurt, Dowell Hurt, Ted, and their spouses, sisters Dorothy Hurt, Roberta Lacey, Alma Nickels, and their spouses, a grandson Ben, and husband Eldon Scott

There will be a private burial and celebration of life.

Instead of sending flowers, Evelyn wanted others to honor and celebrate her life, by donating to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in her memory.
