Frances Irene (Gearhart) Iben passed away, surrounded by family on January 8, 2023, in Phoenix, Arizona.

Frances was born August 28, 1936, in Hopkinton, Iowa and moved to Monticello with her family during her senior year of high school.  Frances was the daughter of Lester & Frances (Green) Gearhart. After graduating high school in Monticello, Frances attended Clark College in Dubuque.  While in college she met the love of her life, Fred Iben.  On July 9, 1959, Frances married Fred Iben and they had two daughters, Lisa & Laurie.

Frances & Fred built 2 successful businesses during their time in Monticello, Fred Iben Excavating & Grading and Walnut Acres Campground.  Frances was the office manager for both businesses. Through the years Frances enjoyed serving on the Monticello School Board and volunteered baking pies at the Presbyterian Church. Fran & Fred recently sold their home in Iowa and moved to Arizona to be near their 2 daughters and grandchildren.

Frances is survived by her daughters Lisa Kagasoff & Laurie Iben, her son-in-law Paul Aslaber and grandchildren Nicole (Kagasoff) Neet, Sarah Kagasoff & Maximilian Aslaber.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service for both Frances & Fred Iben on July 8 ^th in Monticello.
