Obituary

Freda Lynn Lovell, 67, died Friday, August 14, 2026, at her home surrounded by her family.

A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 2 until 6 at the Rotary Pavilion in Wapsipinicon State Park, Anamosa. Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Freda and her family into their care.

Surviving is her husband Glenn, her mother Sally Osterkamp, 3 children Jessica (Toby) Knapp, Joshua (Joan Rivers) Lovell, Jerrad (Keri) Lovell, 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren, her siblings, Annette (Bob) Michaelis, Ivan (Yvone Seeley) Osterkamp Jr., Sarah (John Gavin) Rowley, Scott (Brenda) Osterkamp, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her father Ivan Osterkamp Sr.

Freda Lynn Osterkamp was born August 24, 1958, at John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, the daughter of Ivan and Sally Derhammer, Osterkamp Sr. Freda was a member of the Class of 1977 from the Anamosa Community Schools. Freda married Glenn Lovell on September 10, 1977, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Anamosa. Freda worked at various jobs, the Townhouse Motel and the Roosevelt Hotel in Cedar Rapids, Doer Electric, and the Wabash Company. In 1991, she started working at Polo Plastics in Monticello and retired in 2025 due to her health.

Freda played softball and basketball in high school and continued playing softball after graduation. She and Glenn enjoyed going to estate sales and camping. Freda went to visit her mom every Saturday, they would sew, quilt, or embroider together. She also enjoyed family reunions, attending her last one two weeks before her death.
