George Dahms, 78, of Anamosa, passed away peacefully Monday, September 13, 2021 following a brief illness.

George Orval Dahms was born July 15, 1943 in Vinton, IA, the son of Orval and Luella (Young) Dahms. In 1971 he married his sweetheart Carol Sue Laughridge. She died in 2016. He worked at B. L. Anderson and later retired from Wendling Quarries. He was an avid NASCAR follower and loved to fish and watch westerns in his free time. He loved spending as much time as he could with his family and friends.

Those left to remember his kind and funny soul are his children Tammy (Rodney) Petersen, Anamosa, Tina (Greg) Gran, Minnesota, and Brian (Laura) Dahms, Bellevue, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his sister Gladys Wood, Marion.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Donna, and a brother William.

George will be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a great friend.
