Geraldine "Lucy" Drake, 81, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, January 16, 2019 at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.

The family will greet friends from 4 to 7 pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa. Private burial services will be held for the family in Riverside Cemetery, Anamosa. Thoughts, memories, and condolences may be shared with the family at Goettschonline.com

Geraldine Louise Johnston was born December 11, 1937 in Anamosa, the daughter of William and Stella (Coleman) Johnston. She graduated from Anamosa High School in 1956. On December 1, 1957 she married Donald R. Drake at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Anamosa. He died in 2008. The couple made their home in Cedar Rapids and Geraldine worked for the Linn Mar School District. She retired in 1995.

She enjoyed reading, gardening, doing various crafts, and shopping. Above all else she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Those remembering her are her sons Dan (Kim), Loveland, OH, Mike, Marion, Steve (Deb), Marion and Monte (Karie), Cedar Rapids, 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters.

Memorials in her honor may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha.
