Geraldine Russell, 96, died Saturday, August 19, 2023, at the Anamosa Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 Friday morning, August 25, 2023, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa with interment in the Forrest Chapel Cemetery.  Friends may call from 9:30 until the time of services.  Thoughts, Memories, and Condolences may be left at www.goettschonline.com.  Memorials may be made to the Anamosa Methodist Church.

Surviving is a nephew, David Dirks, grand nieces and nephews, Robin and Curt Pudil, Amber Thomas, Jamey, Sam, Chanin, Sara, Alex, and Katie Dirks, and Hannah and Ben Moss, and several great-great-nieces and nephews and her good friend Charlotte Murray.   She was preceded in death by her Parents, a sister Phyllis, 3 brothers, Verlon, Alfred, and Lyle (Squirt) a sister-in-law Marie, and a nephew Leon Dirks.

Geraldine L. Russell was born on April 16, 1927, in Anamosa, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Elmer and Idel Clymer, Russell.  Gerry graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools in 1948.  She went on to graduate from the Paris Academy of Beauty Culture in 1949. She operated her shop from her home for 30 years.  Gerry then went to work at Emerson Electric and retired in 1986.

Gerry loved to read books, especially her Bible, do crossword puzzles, and word find puzzles.  She also loved to sew.
