Harold Paul, 81, of Anamosa, died Saturday, July 18, 2026, at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 am Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Pastor Mark Ortgies will officiate. Burial will be in Morrison Cemetery, rural Hiawatha. Harold Henry Paul was born on May 7, 1945, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Raymond and Lucille (Mixner) Paul. He married Ruby Shelton in Tipton in 1966. The couple shared 47 years together before her passing in 2013. Harold was employed as a forklift operator at Vigortone Feeds, retiring when the company closed operations. He enjoyed karaoke, bowling, fishing, camping, and woodworking, however he enjoyed spending time with his family the most.

He is survived by his daughter Debbie (J.R. Thomas) Miller, his former son-in-law David Miller, grandchildren Levi Miller, Jacob (Sarah) Miller, Ryan (Johni) Thomas, and Andrew (Kyra) Thomas, great grandchildren Elliott, Hudson, Skyler, Kaitlyn, Waylon, and Lathan, and his faithful companion Taz.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded by his children Carol, Harold Jr., and Susan, his parents, and his sister Janet.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Oldorf Hospice House, especially Chris, Dr. Debra Wilbur and Harold’s social worker Mandy, for all their care.
