James Koerperich, 71, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at St. Lukes Hospice, Cedar Rapids following an extended illness.

A private family interment will be held at a later date.

Jim is survived by his wife, Kathy, his son, Shannon Ehlts, his grandchildren, Madeline Conrad, Alex Conrad, Ari Ehlts, Addi Ehlts, Owen Ehlts, his siblings, David (Linda), Ann, Rick (Angie) and Sherry Koerperich, Jane (Brian) New, Marilyn (Josh) Drees and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kerry Conrad, January 3, 2022.

James Joseph Koerperich was born October 30, 1952, at Dubuque, Iowa, the son of John Joseph and Mary Elizabeth Daily, Koerperich. James was a graduate of Western Dubuque High School class of 1970.  He married the love of his life, Katherine Poppe Ehlts May 14, 1994, at the Four Square Church in Anamosa.  Jim was employed as a machine operator at Star Manufacturing and Franklin Equipment. He also worked at Welter Storage and Theisen's.

Jim will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
