Obituary

Joan Miriam Enter, 85, of Cape Fair, Missouri passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024. She was born October 6, 1939, to Russell "Bud" and Viola Suter in Monticello, Iowa.
She developed a love and appreciation of nature and wildlife spending her childhood living on a working farm surrounded by timber in Iowa. After attending Stephens College and graduating from the University of Northern Iowa, she married and relocated to Peoria, Illinois to become a teacher and raise a family. Later in life she earned her Masters in Early Childhood Development from Illinois State University.  Teaching was a career she truly enjoyed, excelled at and would continue for over 30 years. During her time in Peoria she was blessed with and cared for two sons, Todd and Tim Millman, from her first marriage.
Joan married William (Bill) Enter in 1994 and they soon relocated to Golden, Colorado, where Joan developed a love of the mountains.  They spent many hours hiking, fishing and exploring the great outdoors together.  Ready for the next adventure, they eventually relocated to Cape Fair, Missouri, where Joan spent the last chapter of her life meeting new friends and enjoying the beauty of the Ozarks.  Regardless of age, Joan was always full of energy and life.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Viola Suter, her brother Mike Suter, as well as her beloved grandparents Ike and Miriam Suter.
Joan is survived by her husband, Bill, her sons Todd (Trish) and Tim (Kristy), and her grandchildren Payton, Morgan, Tessa, Luke, Blake, Zach, and Jack.
