With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Jon Calvin Osterkamp, age 63, on Friday July 31, 2026 whose remarkable life was defined by hard work, unwavering love for his family, and generous spirit. Jon passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Jon Calvin Osterkamp was born November 7, 1962, at the Anamosa Community Hospital, the son of John and LaDean Wessels Osterkamp. He graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools with the class of 1981. He then started working in the telephone industry. Jon worked in Chicago for many different suppliers of telephone services and he was currently employed by the Veterans Administration in Iowa City as an IT Specialist.

When he wasn’t working, Jon enjoyed and cherished time with friends and family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and shooting, and riding his motorcycle. Jon married Angeline Catlett on April 22, 1989 at the Wayne Zion Lutheran Church in rural Monticello.

Surviving is his wife, Angeline, three children, Quade, Danielle, and Justine; his siblings, Dave, JoDean Reth, and Von Sandage (Gary Case) ; and father-in-law William Catlett (Barbra Catlett). He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 1 p.m until 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 19 at Fawn Creek Country Club, Anamosa. The Family is Grateful That Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Jon and his family into their care.
