Judith Hankemeier, 84, died Saturday, June 20, 2026, at the Solon Care Center.

Surviving are three children, Bryant, Kathie and Joannie Hankemeier. 3 grandchildren, Steven (Lillian) Hankemeier, Stephanie Nelson, Daniel Stimpson 3 great-grandchildren, Jaden Nelson, Eleanor and Philip Hankemeier, her best friend, Jan Gillispe, her siblings, Bill Jensen, Patsy (Mike) Francois, Patti (Jeff) Schaeffer, and in-laws, David (Betty) Schroeder, Norine Hankemeier, Becky Cooper and many nieces and nephews.

Judith Ann Jensen was born November 1, 1941, at Monticello, Iowa, the daughter of Fred and Josephine (Golliboth) Jensen.  She received her education at Anamosa schools. Judith married Wilmer Hankemeier on September 19, 1964, at Fairview, Iowa.  Wilmer would precede her in 1993.  Judith had worked J.C. Penny in downtown Cedar Rapids, was a stay-at-home mom and then went back to work as secretary at FMC Corporation and Regis High School.  In 1980 she went to work at the University of Iowa in Environmental Services where she retired in 1996.

She was preceded by her parents, her stepmother Luella, a daughter, Marie Stimpson, a brother Paul, and in-laws Elmer and Sylvia Hankemeier, Ray Hankemeier, Sherry Jensen, Irvin and Marilyn Knief, 2 Nieces Kim Thill & Tracey Hasselbusch.

Judy enjoyed crafting, quilting and sewing, going to Bingo and working in her flower garden. Judy and her husband Wilmer (Willy) loved to go dancing and spent most Saturday nights going out for Prime Rib and then Dancing, usually following the Mooney Hollow Band with family & friends.
