Katherine Heasty, 98, of Anamosa, died Friday, January 13, 2023, at the Anamosa Care Center following a brief illness.

Surviving is her sister, Linda Roling, Anamosa, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  husband Donald in 2009, her infant son Gary and sisters, Mary Lucille Gerst, Fran Weers, and Alta Marie Taber.

Katherine Margaret Taber was born May 30, 1924, at Cedar Rapids, Iowa.  She was the daughter of Howard and DeLoris DeNio, Taber.   Katherine graduated from Wilson High School, Cedar Rapids in 1942.  She worked at a MeToo Grocery Store in Cedar Rapids.

Katherine Taber and Donald Heasty were married on June 22, 1944, at St. Ludmila's Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids.  The couple moved to Anamosa and Katherine was employed at Kouba Pharmacy for 30 years.

Katherine loved to crochet, and play bingo and cards. She will be greatly missed.

Private family services and interment will be held at a later date.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa has taken Katherine and her family into their care.
