The family of Kathleen Thelma Dirks of Anamosa, Iowa, is saddened to announce her passing on March 31, 2025, at the Anamosa Care Center.  She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.

Kathy was born in Anamosa, Iowa, on February 15, 1954, and was preceded in death by her parents Louis & Jeanne Gilbert.

Kathy graduated from Anamosa High School in 1970, where she met her soulmate Phillip Dirks.  They were married on July 29, 1972, and were married for 49 years before his passing in 2021.

Kathy had several jobs over her lifetime.  She was a teacher's aide for several years at Strawberry Hill Elementary School, an advisor at 4 Oaks, and a bookkeeper for Phillip Dirks Painting Company.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.  She was known for her kindness and love of family.

She is survived by her two children Nathan (Sarah) Dirks and Jeffrey (Michelle) Dirks, three grandchildren: Dietrich, Aaron, and Gavin, her brother Butch, sisters Carolyn, Vianna, and Colleen.  She was also preceded in death by her brother Gary, and sister Laureen.

A visitation service to celebrate Kathy's life will be held on May 21, 2025, from 12:30 to 2:30 pm, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa, Iowa.  Burial Service for family will be held at 3:00pm at the Riverside Cemetery in Anamosa, Iowa.
