Keith Schlemmer, 85, of Anamosa, died Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at his home with his family at his side.

Rev. Rodger Good will officiate private services on Friday, August 4, 2023, at Riverside Cemetery, where Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Army and the Anamosa Veterans Honor Guard. Keith Otto Schlemmer was born on February 7, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Otto and Clara (Luedemann) Schlemmer. He graduated from Olin High School and on May 31, 1959, he married Lila Bartels at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Anamosa. She died in 2011. On November 9, 2013, he married Jean Jenkins in Anamosa. He was employed by Maquoketa Valley REC as a lineman and retired in 1999 after 38 years of service. He proudly served his country in the Army National Guard and earned an Honorable Discharge.

An avid Cubs and Hawkeye fan, he also enjoyed golfing, gardening, playing cards, visiting friends around town, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is remembered by his wife Jean, his daughters Kris (Jeff) Wilson and Karla (Al) Johnson, grandchildren Andrew, Nicole, Emily, Alicia, and Adam, ten great grandchildren, his siblings Kenneth, Carroll (Sharon), and Erma (Dennis) Radtke, as well as by nieces and nephews.

In addition to his first wife Lila, he was preceded in death by his parents.
