Kenneth Armstrong, Jr., 72, of Anamosa, died Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at his home.

Funeral services will take place at 11 am Monday, January 24, 2022 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, in Anamosa, where friends may call from 9 am to the time of service. Facemasks, properly fitted over the nose and mouth, are required. Thank you for your cooperation in keeping everyone safe.  Inurnment, with full military honors, will take place in the spring at Norwich Cemetery, Martelle. Kenneth Calvin Armstrong, Jr. was born September 21, 1949 in Iowa City, the son of Kenneth Calvin and Violet Mae (Skadsem) Armstrong, Sr. He attended schools in Martelle and Anamosa and graduated from Anamosa High School. He was drafted and served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Kenny worked at the Cargill Corporation in Cedar Rapids, retiring after 36 years.

He was a member at both the Fawn Creek and Wapsi Country Clubs, and enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, golfing, NASCAR, and the Iowa Hawkeyes. Above all else he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Kenny is remembered by his children Kevin (Stephanie) Armstrong, Coal City, IL, and Kristina Nelson, Tiffin, grandchildren Michael, Courtney, Alyssa, Cora, Wyatt, and Colton, sisters Sharon (Don) Fleming and Pam (Boomer) Denniston, all of Anamosa, by many nieces and nephews, and his two loving cats Lilly and Lewy.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
