Kimberly Steiner, 77 died Thursday December 4, 2025, at Friendship Village in Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 Thursday afternoon, December 11, 2025, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. Pastor Bill Warhover will officiate at the services. Friends may call after 11:00 until 1:00 at the Goettsch Funeral Home.
Surviving is her brother, Scott (Lori) Steiner, 3 nieces Shauna (Nick) Barton, Staci (Kevin Williams) Katlyn (Wes Middleswart) Steiner, 5 great nieces and nephews, Cole and Anna Barton, Kameron and Klayton Williams, Maddox Middleswart. She was preceded by her parents and a sister Eulon.
Kimberly Kay Steiner was born January 16, 1948, at the John McDonald Hospital, Monticello the daughter of Vernon (Pete) and Mary Jane Koster, Steiner. Kim graduated from the Monticello Community Schools with the class of 1966. She continued her education at the St. Louis Municipal School of Nursing, graduating on June 15, 1969. Kim then started her career as a Nurse at Finley Hospital in Dubuque where she was a Nursing Supervisor in the Emergency Room. She loved working the overnight shifts. She retired in 2015 after 46 years at Finley Hospital. Kim relocated to Rock Island in March of 2025 to be close to her family.
On the weekend you would find Kim at the family cabin on the Island at Guttenberg with a book in her hand and a Diet Pepsi at her side sitting on the cabin deck reading. She always had several cats in her home. She also loved to cook and travel with friends and family.
