Larry Nielsen, 76, died Thursday, March 14, 2024, from injuries received in an auto accident.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 Friday morning, May 31, 2024, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Anamosa, Iowa. Pastor Holly Knouse will officiate at the services. Surviving are his two sisters, Ruth Woods and Elaine Mallicoat, and a sister-in-law, Margaret Nielsen.  He was preceded by his parents and a brother Keith.

Larry Chris Nielsen was born on April 21, 1947, in Anamosa, Iowa.  He was the son of Andrew and Ruth Watters, Nielsen.  Larry graduated from the Anamosa Community Schools with the class of 1967.  Larry had worked at the Wagon Wheel restaurant in Monticello, Clinton Engines, and had farmed the family farm.

Larry belonged to the Jones County Historical Society, often helping with Edinburgh Days.  He also enjoyed woodworking.
