Lois Jeanne Schneider was born in Monticello, Iowa, on June 26, 1922, the daughter of Isaac and Pearl Barnts, Schneider.  Lois graduated from Sacred Heart High School with the class of 1940.  She married George Hines on July 24, 1943, in San Luis Obispo, California.  Lois started working at the Dime Store. She was a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown. Lois then went to work at the Monticello State Bank where she was the secretary for Dick Moore and Bob DeVaney. She later managed the Farm Department until she retired.
Lois enjoyed her family especially baseball with 5 generations playing for the Monticello Cubs.  She was probably best known for sitting on her porch waving at people and watching the world go by.
