Lynn Powelson age 60 of Monticello, IA., died Sunday, November 29, 2020 at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids from complications of Covid 19.

A Gathering and prayer service will be held, 1:00 Saturday afternoon, December 5, 2020 at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello with interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.  Friends may call after 12 noon.  Mask's must be worn and fitted properly over the nose and mouth at all times to enter the funeral home.  Social distancing standards need to be strictly observed.  A memorial fund has been established.  Memorials may be sent to Goettsch Funeral Home 514 West First Street Monticello, Iowa 52310.

Surviving are 4 children, Wesley (Rachelle), Monticello, Lisa Dahnke, Davenport, Phillip (Courtney), Olin, Denver (Peggy) Gorden, Manchester, 12 grandchildren, his mother, Francis (Joann) Powelson, LaHarpe, 3 siblings, Dena Stout, Dallas City, IL, Timothy (Lorinda) Powelson,  Oelwein, Jamey Powelson LaHarpe.   He was preceded in death by his father Donald.

Lynn Powelson was born February 5, 1960 at LaHarpe, Illinois.  He was the son of Donald and Francis Hoskins, Powelson. Lynn graduated from the LaHarpe High School with the class of 1978. He farmed in the LaHarpe and Terre Haute areas for several years.  He later started working for Exide Technologies in Burlington, IA where he was an industrial maintenance mechanic.  Lynn transferred to the Exide Plant at Manchester, IA where he retired in 2008.

Lynn enjoyed camping and fishing, spending time with family and friends and watching the cartoon channel or Animal Planet.
