******UPDATE********Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning , September 24, 2022 at Little Country Church, Scotch Grove.  (2 miles east of Scotch Grove on E17 ) (look for the sign then a ½ mile south) With private family interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.    Friends may call after 9:00 AM Saturday at the church.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Bob and his family into their care.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp Wyoming.

Robert Zirkelbach age 93, died Tuesday, August 2, 2022 at the Jones Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 Saturday morning, August 6, 2022 at Scotch Grove Country Church, Scotch Grove. With private family interment in the Oakwood Cemetery.    Friends may call after 9:00 AM Saturday at the church.  Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello has taken Bob and his family into their care.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Camp Wyoming.

Surviving is his wife, Ruth, 4 children, Rebecca (Kent) Moore, Kim (Jo) Zirkelbach, Tony (Terri) Zirkelbach, Holly (Martin) Kenison,  13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren  and 3 great- great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Ruth Hardersen, Rosemary Lorenzen and Amy Wilson and 3 brothers, John, Howard and Dean.

Lynn Robert Zirkelbach was born, July 17, 1929 in Wayne Township, Jones County Iowa.  He was the son of Edward and Emma Hein, Zirkelbach.  Robert married Ruth Spahr on September 13, 1952.    Bob started farming on the family farm near Scotch Grove for 40 years. He worked at Swiss Valley Co-Op part-time after he retired.

Bob was a life-long member of the Scotch Grove Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.  He was a member of Farm Bureau, a 4 H Leader and a member of the Jones Co Extension Board. He loved to go golfing at the Scotch Grove Coon Hunter's Club.  He volunteered at Camp Wyoming and the Jones County Historical Society at Edinburgh Village.

In his extra time Bob enjoyed wood working and made sure everyone in the family had a piece to cherish. Bob loved to go trout fishing when ever he could.  He fulfilled a life long dream to visit Australia and New Zealand after he retired from farming.
