Marietta Hormann, 87, of Monticello, formerly of Anamosa, died Saturday, June 1, 2024, at Unity Point St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids.

Marietta Joan Kray was born in rural Cass township on June 19, 1936, the daughter of Henry and Emma (Weers) Kray. She attended country school in rural Jones County. She married Gerald Hormann in Illinois in 1975. He preceded her in death in 1997.

She worked on the assembly line at Rockwell in Cedar Rapids and retired in 1998. She enjoyed all types of flowers, bird watching, and crocheting. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeyes fan and loved to spend time with her family, especially her great granddaughter Brookelyn.

She is remembered by her son Leon Gartland, grandchildren Travis Rockwell and Ashley Gartland, her great granddaughter Brookleyn Beeson, as well as by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded by a grandson Joseph Folken, her parents, and her siblings Henrietta, Edward, Wilma, Donald, Dorothy, Leonard, Leona, Kenneth, and Willis (Bill).
