Marilyn Elizabeth Warthen, 75, of Anamosa, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday, April 15, 2024.

Graveside services will take place at 10:30 am Saturday, April 27, 2024. Friends may call from 9 to 10:15 am Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Goettsch Funeral Home in Anamosa. Marilyn was born on July 10, 1948, in Anamosa, the daughter of William and Dorothy (Brewer) Wright. She attended school in Anamosa and graduated from Anamosa High School in the Class of 1966. She was untied in marriage to Ronald Warthen on March 31, 1967, in Anamosa. She loved to travel with her husband and was a lifelong resident of Anamosa. She was employed as a clerk in the financial office at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Warthen Moyer, her sisters Marlys (Arlo) Brownlie, Laurie (Ken) Whestine, and Margie (Henry) Barrera, as well as by several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a sister Mary Lou Simmering, a brother Ronald, and a nephew Scott Knebel.

Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family would like to express their gratitude for the care she received from the staff of the Anamosa Care Center, and the staff of Above and Beyond Hospice.
