Michael John Goedken, 59, died suddenly, Saturday, July 12, 2025, while visiting in the Wisconsin Dells.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday August 9, 2025 at the Eagles Club in Monticello, Iowa from 1 until 4.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Monticello, IA has taken Michael and his family into their care.

Surviving is his wife Rene, his mother, Judy (Randy Daddy) Monk, a step-son, Dirk (Melissa) Reese, 2 grandchildren, Seth and Jana and a brother Rick (Sharon Grams) Goedken.  He was preceded in death by his father Ernest.

Michael John Goedken was born February 14, 1966, at the John McDonald Hospital in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Ernest and Judy Postel, Goedken.  Mike graduated from the Monticello Community Schools in1984. He raised greyhounds for several years under the Gerts-Goedken Greyhound Kennel name.    He has worked as a Office Systems Installer and installed fences for Lovewell Fence in the Quad Cities.
Mike loved to play golf, spend time with his grandkids, socialize with friends and he rekindled his passion for skiing.  He never missed bible study on Sunday morning at the Northridge Community Church, in Eldridge.
