Michael McCullough, 71, died Monday, December 25, 2023, at his home in Stone City following a sudden illness.

Michael was born on April 5, 1952, in Monticello, Iowa.   He was the son of Arthur and Maxine Schleder, McCullough.  He graduated from the Monticello Community Schools and then attended Kirkwood College.

While Michael worked at various jobs, music is what drove him.  He played in bands as well as solo all over the country.   He was regular entertainment at Surfas Grill Burger and Beer in Kona, Hawaii for several years.  He returned to Iowa in 2019 and lived in Stone City and was a regular in the music scene in Eastern Iowa.

Michael is survived by his cousin, Roger (Sue) Smith.   He was preceded by his parents, a sister Peggy, Conrad a brother Fred, and infant sisters, Pamela and Deborah.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.  Goettsch Funeral Home has taken Michael and his family into their care.
