Myrna Taylor age 97, died Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque following a brief illness.

Private family graveside services will be held at the Springville Cemetery.   Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa has taken Myrna into their care.

Myrna Sinkey was born July 28, 1921 at Anamosa, Iowa.   She was the daughter of Charles and Maude Johnson, Sinkey.   She received her education in the Anamosa Community Schools graduating with the class of 1939. Myrna then attended beauty school in Dubuque.    She operated her own beauty shop in Anamosa for over 50 years retiring in 2001.   Myrna married Howard "Bud" Taylor on February 12, 1972 at Dubuque, Iowa.    He would precede her in death on December 18, 1986.  She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers, James and Charles Sinkey and her 2 sisters Velda Derga and Nelda Sinkey.

When she was not working Myrna enjoyed baking.  She was known for her wonderful pumpkin bars, her cheese ball and meatballs. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing cards and going for coffee at Woody's and later Hardee's.
