Myrtle Floyd, 85, died Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Pinicon Senior Living following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 Friday morning, September 8, 2023, at the Goettsch Funeral Home, Anamosa where friends may call from 9:30 until 11:00. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery. Surviving is her daughter, Debra Floyd, 3 grandchildren, Louis, Ralyn and Brenton. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband David, a son Dwayne and siblings, Barbara Stetler, Miles, Nile and Samuel Mentzer.
Myrtle Adwilda Mentzer was born near Coggon on September 15, 1937. She was the daughter of Nelson and Edna Minkler, Mentzer. Myrtle graduated from Coggon High school in 1957. She married David Floyd on February 23, 1957, at Manchester, Iowa. Myrtle was employed at Collins Radio for 25 years, where she worked on line 6, assembly and test repair. Myrtle has been a resident of Pinicon Senior Living since January of 2021.
Myrtle enjoyed quilting and sewing. She made lap quilts that she donated to area care facilities. In the summer months she loved to garden. She and David like going on drives to view the leaves and to watch the birds.
