Rex Thompson, 69, of Monticello, died Sunday, April 23, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family.

Surviving is his wife Nicole, his children, Angelina, Justin, Sophia, Rex, Nancy, April, Christopher, Baby Joy, Jacob, Chuck and Michael, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, 2 siblings, Delbert and Mamie and his in-laws, Deb Parker and Raymond Dirks. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Ada and Esther.

Rex Eugene Thompson was born, November 28, 1953 at Marion, Kentucky. He was the son of Bert and Jennie King, Thompson. Rex graduated from the Lasalle, Ill High School. Rex later continued his education at an automotive training school. He worked in automotive repair for many years. In 2004 he started working at Tomy International in Dyersville where he was a distribution specialist. On August 25, 2012 Rex married Nicole Dirks. He retired in 2018. In retirement he worked on his house and detailed his cars. He loved the outdoors and time spent with his family and music, especially the Beatles.
